Académie des sciences' Awards

Thanks to the generosity of private donors, government agencies and companies, the Académie des sciences awards nearly 80 prizes each year covering all fields of science, both fundamental and applied. Many excellent candidates are considered for these prizes. Their selection is made by juries operating under rules that exclude the possibility of conflicts of interest. The juries of the prizes of less than 7500€, called "thematic prizes of the Académie des sciences", are constituted by the members of the competent sections. The "Grand prizes", of an amount superior to 15000€, are the responsibility of special juries, associating members of several sections or external to the Académie, if necessary.

All these prizes are awarded to the winners during solemn sessions, under the dome of the Institut de France.
