List of references for the Géoscience and Biologies series (numeric)
All articles submitted to Comptes Rendus must be supported by reliable scientific sources. Submissions without bibliographical references will be rejected without evaluation.
To enable us to evaluate your manuscript and the primary and secondary sources on which it is based, please provide as much bibliographical information as possible for each reference. This information will enable us to properly reference your article if we decide to publish it, in accordance with the recommendations of international academic databases and search engines.
All the primary and secondary sources of your article must appear in a single final bibliography (not organized in subsets).
Your bibliography must be limited to the references mentioned throughout the text: any additional comments may appear in your manuscript as footnotes or endnotes, but not in the bibliography itself.
Instructions for presenting references in the final bibliography :
- Sort your references alphabetically by first author's surname, then chronologically;
- Provide as much bibliographical information as possible: authors, title of article, title and number of journal, date of publication, pagination, publisher and city of publication for books, etc... ;
- Whenever possible, include the precise identifiers (DOI, handle, ARK...) of the documents cited, as well as their URLs (the latter accompanied by the date on which you consulted the page);
- Ensure that all references cited in the text (including captions for illustrations, graphs and tables) are included in the bibliography.
If you use a bibliographic management software such as Zotero, don't hesitate to submit your bibliography in .bib or .ris format at the same time as your article. If you write in TeX, your .bib file is mandatory.
> Click here to download our bibliographic style (CSL file, for Zotero and other references managers).
Please note that your references will be reformatted at the time of proofreading, and that it is therefore normal to observe a discrepancy between the examples below and the final layout of the bibliographies included in our articles (e.g.: abbreviated first names, et al. mention, inclusion of DOIs, use of bold or italics, order of references, etc.).
