The Bibliothèque nationale de France's collection
Old issues of the Comptes rendus have been digitised by the Bibliothèque nationale de France in partnership with the Académie des sciences. These digitised files are available in the Gallica digital library, which offers a nearly complete collection for most series:
- Comptes rendus hebdomadaires des séances de l'Académie des sciences : from 1835 to 1965
- Comptes rendus hebdomadaires des séances de l'Académie des sciences from 1966 to 1980 :
- Série A - Sciences mathématiques et Série B - Sciences physiques : from 1966 to 1973, then 1975 [1976-1980 missing for now]
- Série C - Sciences chimiques : from 1966 to 1980
- Série D - Sciences naturelles : from 1966 to 1980
- Vie académique : from 1968 to 1970
- Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des sciences from 1981 to 1996 :
- Série I - Mathématique : from 1981 to 1983, then from 1984 to 1996
- Série II - Mécanique-physique, Chimie, Sciences de l'univers, Sciences de la Terre : from 1981 to 1983, then from 1984 to 1990
- Série 2a - Sciences de la terre et des planètes : from 1995 to 1996
- Série 2b - Mécanique, physique, chimie, astronomie : from 1991 to 1996
- Série III - Sciences de la vie : from 1981 to 1983, then from 1984 to 1996
- Vie académique : from 1979 to 1983
- Vie des sciences : from 1984 to 1996
This collection is currently only available in image format. The Académie des sciences is working with the Persée infrastructure to better reference and structure these back issues, in order to facilitate their use.
The Biodiversity Heritage Library's collection
Several actors in the field of research and international scientific heritage have also joined their digitisation efforts to disseminate the first 175 volumes (1835-1922) of the Comptes rendus within the Biodiversity Heritage Library:
- The Natural History Museum Library, London (United Kingdom);
- The Ernst Mayr Library, Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts (United States);
- The Peter H. Raven Library, Missouri Botanical Garden, Saint-Louis, Missouri (United States) ;
- And the MBLWHOI Library, Falmouth, Massachusetts (United States).
