Comptes Rendus Chimie is a peer-reviewed, open access, electronic diamond journal that publishes original research works (articles, short papers) and accounts (short reviews and historic chronicles) in all areas of chemistry (organic, inorganic, bioorganic, bioinorganic, organometallic, physical, solid state, theoretical).
Comptes Rendus Chimie pursues a strict and transparent single-blind peer review policy to ensure excellence in content. Articles in thematic issues, submitted by invitation from guest editors, are also subject to this policy.
Due to the importance placed by the journal's editorial team on the peer review process, the average time between the first submission of the article and its publication by Comptes Rendus Chimie is approximately 23 weeks.
Manuscripts submitted to Comptes Rendus Chimie are first evaluated by the editor in charge of the submission, in order to verify if the manuscript meets the general criteria of the journal.
Once this first step is completed, the editor sets up the peer review process and assigns experts (at least two per submission) to perform the qualitative evaluation of the submitted text. This phase takes an average of 13 weeks.
Each manuscript accepted for publication is then forwarded to our publishing partner for linguistic verification, standardisation, metadata creation and preparation of digital proofs. This phase takes an average of 10 weeks.
The articles are published on the Comptes Rendus Chimie website as soon as the proofs are validated, including for the thematic issues, which benefit from a double publication (first as the issue progresses, then once the issue is completed).
Articles published in Comptes Rendus Chimie are available on a free, immediate and permanent basis, also called Diamond Open Access:
